Border Ag and Energy was created by the merger of Bottineau Farmers Elevator and Sours River Cooperative on September 1, 2016.
Bottineau Farmers Elevator
Bottineau Farmers Elevator was a locally owned affiliate of Cenex Harvest States, CHS, established in 1939. A full service cooperative, Bottineau Farmers Elevator provided grain marketing, agronomy, seed, feed and products and services that support these core businesses. Bottineau Farmers Elevator was a branch office for CHS Hedging, LLC, providing its customers with risk management through the Futures and Options Markets.
Souris River Cooperative
In 2004, Farmers Union Oil Company of Newburg and Souris River Grain Company merged to form what is now Souris River Cooperative. These two entities formed with assets to create a full service grain and farm supply cooperative.
We have partnered with Farmers Union Oil of Westhope to form Northern Fuel Partners in order to provide better services regarding our energy department.
In the fall of 2013 we entered into a partnership with CHS SunPrairie and Enerbase Cooperative Resources and are now partner-owners with these two cooperatives of Dakota Agronomy Partners.
