DTN COMMENTS: Cash cattle country is quiet at midday with asking prices
starting out around $184-plus in the South, but not established in the
North. Significant trade volume will likely be held off until Wednesday
or later.
Beef cutouts are mixed at midday (choice 298.29 -2.59, select 292.65
+1.31), with light to moderate box movement (40.94 lds of choice cuts,
9.08 lds of select cuts, 4.15 lds of trim, and 12.25 lds of ground).
Cattle futures near the noon hour are sharply higher on both live and
feeder contracts.
